Men’s Style Pro teamed up with Target‘s online, behind the scenes magazine, A Bullseye View to style three looks for their site. The task at hand was to style 3 looks for under $100 from their fall lines. I decided to add a twist to this challenge by styling each look with some pieces from my closet as well. The idea was to show guys that you can upgrade your style without having to do a complete overhaul of your closet. Above is just one look from the Men’s Style Pro x A Bullseye View for Target feature. To read the full feature, click HERE.(http://abullseyeview.com/target-blogger-sabir-m-peele-mens-style-pro)

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the showroom of Imparali Custom Tailors on 5th Avenue in New York City. It was a pleasure to sit down with head tailor, Matt Harpalani to pick his brain about the history, service and new features of the custom clothing brand.

Men’s Style Pro’s Review
So, there are many things that really make Imparali one of helluva custom clothing brand. Their showroom experience is top-notch (the recently added bar might add to that feeling too). Matt, the head tailor at Imparali, isn’t just knowledge about custom menswear, he’s just a great guy to have a conversation with about anything. The fabric selection in terms of custom suiting options is really out of this world. Imparali offers fabric from many of the top of the line mills like Scabal and Loro Piana, but, always support the smaller mom & pop fabric shops. When thinking of the bells and whistles for your suits, the sky is the limit in terms of options (think quarter line blazers, 2 inch cuffs on trousers, functional sleeve buttons). I was fortunate enough to have a three-piece, glen plaid, wool suit made by Imparali and I have to say it is one of my favorites hands down (feature coming soon).
For the person just getting into the custom menswear game, it is great to know that Imparali offer free alternations for life as well as a 20 year warranty on your suits. All suits jackets are fully canvas (no fusing) and my favorite detail is that the buttons are anchored on your jackets (which is a feature I am to see in any other custom clothing brand). With the addition of their eCommerce site, anyone is able to purchase their products online and can consult with their style advisors live via the web (E-tailor service). Overall, Imparali gets an A for service, product and general experience.
Special thanks to Matt Harpalani and the Imparali crew for letting me drop buy and get all measured up.

It’s been just over two weeks since we started the reconstruction on the Men’s Style Pro site. Since things never really go as planned, the original launch date of April 8th had to be scrapped. Nevertheless, the new Men’s Style Pro is here. What we wanted to do was to give the site an e-magazine feel with more content on the homepage, interactive social media features and our favorite piece The Forums.
We are super excited to be relaunching the site, so we wanted to give our readers the opportunity to win some great stuff! Below are the details for the Men’s Style Pro Relaunch Giveaway.

Finding the shirt collar that compliments your style and face can be a bit of a challenge. This post features two cutaway collar shirts by Hugh & Crye. These collars would be considered an American style cutaway, which means the distance from point to point isn’t as drastic as the English cutaway. The cutaway maybe a viable option for the guy that isn’t looking for an extremely formal dress shirt, but really wants to stand out from the rest of the straight-pointed collared shirts around the office. The American version of the cutaway collar is a solid transition collar for the guy that’s interested in changing up their traditional look without going to full “dandy” status. If you’re planning to spread your collar even further, you will want to make sure your tie knot has some weight too it. A true skinny tie will not take up enough real estate with a cutaway collar and will just be out of place.

The Hugh & Crye fit guide is like none other, that I have experienced, for an off the rack shirt.. To check out the Hugh & Crye Fit Guide, click here. You’ll notice that the guide has for different builds specified; Skinny, Slim, Athletic & Broad. Each shirt has a corresponding torso length of short, average or tall. These all sound like typical sizing, but, each shirt is tailored like a made-to-measure shirt. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the two-ply fabric and the fit is reminiscent of a custom piece.

Getting a handle on spring temperatures, especially in northeastern United States, can be a bit tricky. The mornings are cool, afternoons are warmer and the evenings are cool again. One of my favorite pieces to transition from winter to spring is the Cricket Sweater.
Steeped in a rich history of tennis, golf and of course cricket, this particular style of cable knit sweater is not just for playing a few rounds of “whack-bat” (a la Fantastic Mr. Fox). This spring, use your cricket sweater as a layering piece or on its own when putting outfits together. Most often, cricket sweaters are constructed from light wool or cotton blend fabrics, which make them surprisingly breathable and not as heavy as your traditional winter sweaters. Below are some style tips, and two looks for inspiration, as you try out the cricket sweater. The Cricket Sweaters in this feature are from Uniqlo.

The linen suit has been revamped over the years. Moving away from the baggy island version of itself, the new linen suit is tailored for the modern man. Something that stood out to us about many linen suits in the past is how drab they were. Most often these suits were off-white or navy, but there was no pop to them. Instead of going ham and jumping right into a plaid, gingham or tartan linen suit, we decided to bring your three versions of the classic pinstripe linen suit.
(suits by Hackett London, Indochino & Dragon Inside).
1. All Business with Hackett London (the Wool/Linen Blend)
Double Breasted Pinstripe Linen & Wool Blend Suit by Hackett London from their Mayfair Collection
One big problem with the older style linen suit was the structure of the fabric. You don’t want to be the guy suffering from potato sack syndrome, you do want to look cool and literally be cool. Of course, linen wrinkles as you wear it, so if you are a guy that has to wear suits to work during the summer months skip linen during the work week and save the wrinkles for the weekend. This particular suit is a 50% wool, %50 linen blend. The wool gives this suit the structure and body of a traditional all wool suit and you get to stay cool due to the light quality of the linen fabric.

2. The Full Three Piece – Dragon Inside Ecru Linen Suit
Of course we can’t give up on the classic beige linen suit, but, we did find one with a very subtle sky blue pinstripe. Even though the modern linen suit is more tailored, don’t forget it can still be worn casually. Ditch the traditional pointed collar shirt and get summer fresh with a band collar.

3. The Waist Coat & Trouser by Indochino
Custom Pinstripe Brown Linen Waist Coat & Trousers by Indochino
Plain and Simple…..Don’t Forget The Power Of Brown! Brown is one of the most underrated suit colors and when paired with linen, the combination is sleek and business ready. The texture of the linen is a great complement to the brown color too! Keep the pinstripes as subtle as possible because you may want this suit as a work option. People shouldn’t notice the pinstriping unless they are standing right next to you.

As I mentioned in the Bally Weekender Bag piece, we attended the menswear trade show, Pitti Uomo 84 in Florence Italy this past June. During the four-day event, buyers, editors & bloggers converge on the menswear mecca at the Fortezza da Basso to get the first glimpse for the S/S 14 lines of many of our favorite and some new brands. Part of the allure of Pitti is running into some of the menswear all-stars (or at least those dudes that you troll the internet for to peep their steez) like Nick Wooster, Scott Schuman and Lino Ieluzzi just to name a few.
After meeting those dudes you can refocus and get down to the matter at hand, getting the details on the clothing lines for next year. One of the most surreal experiences about these trade shows is the opportunity to meet the designers and pick their brains for a bit. Hearing the ideas and inspiration coming directly from the people that we know because their names are often stitch onto our garment labels is something like listening to someone speak about their children that they are so proud of.
Beside guys walking around peacocking for the cameras, Pitti is a place that really made for artist. The displays that many of the clothing brands use are nothing short of an artist landscape. The visual art of the atmosphere infused itself into this year’s theme, Pitti Zroommm!! You’ll see from the video about and some of the images below the abundance of retro motorcycles throughout the Fortezza. Brands like G-Star Raw really complemented the Zroommm theme with their raw black & indigo denim, horse & boating racing paraphernalia strategically placed about their exhibit. Below is a chronicle of our visit to the trade show better known as Pitti Uomo (all shot by Marina T. Peele).

The masterminds behind Armstrong & Wilson, Ontario and Clifton respectively, have upped the ante on their well-known and acclaimed pocket squares with their trademark “button” embellishment. For the first time in the brand’s history, Armstrong & Wilson have introduced a few pocket squares into their spring/summer 12′ line without their trademark button, as well as, few with ruffled edges for a more worn in look. The new line of squares are all made of cotton for the spring/summer 12′ which is the most appropriate for the warmer weather. For the Armstrong & Wilson faithful, some of the squares in the new line are still adorned with the button that we know and love (so don’t head for the hills and start sewing buttons on your old squares). Below are a few of the new pocket squares that are now available for purchase Armstrong & Wilson. Add some kick to your blazer pockets this summer and go floral or maybe a nice plaid pattern! Don’t forget to check out their feature via GQ Online Blog – The Eye.
